Taanis Esther and Purim 5784

Purim this year falls out on this coming Motzaei Shabbos/Sunday: The following is our Shul schedule for Taanis Esther which is this Thursday and for Kriyas Megillah:

  • Taanis Esther Mincha 1:35 pm
  • Taanis Esther Maariv 7:45 pm
  • Motzaei Shabbos Maariv 8:00 pm
  • Evening Kriyas Megillah at 8:40 pm ( iy’H promptly )
  • Schachris (Sunday morning) 8:30 am
  • Morning Kriyas Megillah 9:00 am (approximately)
  • Mincha Purim afternoon: 2:00 pm pm
  • Begin your Purim Seuda: By no later than 5:30-6:00 pm
  • Maariv post Purim: 8:45 pm
  • Machtzis Hashekel will be on Thursday Taanis Esther at Mincha iy”H.

Matanos L’Evyonim: I will be collecting Matanos L’Evyonim for distribution to Aniyim on Purim for Kupas Ezrah and Ezras Yisroel as I do every year. I will be accepting cash and checks all this week and until after laining Purim morning for either or both organizations.
(Suggested giving amounts are $8 per evyon x 2 evyonim = $16 per nosain “Kol hamarbeh harei zeh Meshubach”)

Mishloach Manos basic requirement is 2 edible items to one person. Hidur, to give one set of Manos to someone you are already close to, a second to one you wish to be closer to with.

Anyone who is B’Avaylus this year should please call me regarding the mitzvos hayom of Purim.
